State Student Convention (SSC-2017)

Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (VIPS), New Delhi in collaboration with VIPS CSI Students’ Branch, New Delhi organized State Student Convention (SSC) on the theme of “Digital India” on 21 st January 2017. SSC–2017 aimed to inculcate professionalism and research aptitude amongst students’. Apart from the academic excellence, the motive behind the event was the overall development of the students. The one day convention consisted of Website Designing Competition, Quiz, Programming Challenge, Paper Presentation, Singing, Solo and Group Dance competition, LAN Gaming, Dry Cooking, Street Play, etc. All the events received tremendous response in terms of participation. More than 1600 participants from 92 premier Institutions participated in the event. SSC-2017 commenced with the lighting of lamp by a group of dignitaries followed by Saraswati Vandana. Prof. Rattan Sharma, Principal Director VIPS formally welcomed all the dignitaries and participants from various institutes. Prof. M.N. Hoda, National Chairman Division – I Computer Society of India (CSI) and Director BVICAM Delhi, the Honorable Chief Guest in his Inaugural Address, highlighted the need of digitalization for the social and economic development to emerge as a global power. Mr. R. K. Vyas, Hon. Treasurer CSI, spoke about collaborating education with professional society and nurturing the country as a whole. He wished for the success of the convention. Mr. Saurabh Agrawal, Regional Student Convener (North India,) CSI motivated everyone to actively participate in the convention. Mr. Jasmeet Sethi, Regional Manager Aspiring Minds, Delhi described the importance of Information Technology and related fields. He talked of bridging the gap between the market expectations and education sector products.

In the end, Prof. Vinay Kumar, Dean VSIT and Hon. Secretary CSI-DC offered a vote of thanks to all dignitaries. He thanked all the invited guests and participants for gracing the occasion by their solemn presence and CSI for providing platform to conduct such state conventions.

In the validatory session Dean, VSIT thanked Dr. Deepali Kamthania, Co-Convenor (SSC-2017) and Associate Professor-VSIT and Ms. Alpana Sharma, Assistant Professor-VSIT for organizing the convention. He congratulated and thanked all faculty members and student volunteers for coordination and successful completion of the convention. VIPS played perfect host to conduct the SSC-2017 extremely flawlessly and proved to be an exciting experience for participants and organizers.
